The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is centrally located and easily available to students. The LRC has been designed to enhance the academic experience of students and promote learning and personal development. The LRC provides a welcoming environment for individual and group study, a variety of electronic resources, and computers for use during tutorial sessions and other activities.
The LRC also provides tutoring in all subjects. One-on-one tutoring in the LRC allows students and teachers the opportunity to focus on the particular needs a student might have. Math, science and computer tutoring take place in the LRC. To complement the tutoring provided by members of the ABP faculty, the ABP offers peer tutoring. Students at Qatar Foundation’s partner universities provide peer tutoring in the LRC.
Additionally, the LRC offers Mini Courses to prepare students for SAT, ACT, TOEFL, and IELTS exams. These Mini Courses are generally offered in the fall semester.
The English Room is located near the LRC. The English Room provides language tutoring at all levels.
The English Room is a separate part of the LRC. The English room is staffed with one or two teachers throughout the school day. Students come to the English Room to get assistance on assignments for various classes, on college essays, and on the review process for IELTS and TOEFL exams.
Students may seek tutoring in the LRC or English Room as they need it and/or tutoring may be recommended by their teachers. Students are always encouraged to “drop in” to receive immediate assistance. No prior appointment is necessary.
The LRC and English Room are integral parts of the ABP program of studies.
