Why ABP?

Since its launch in 2001, the Academic Bridge Program (ABP) has graduated more than 2,500 students, 90% of whom have gone on to study at universities here in Qatar or abroad.

You can find ABP graduates studying in the UK, the US, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. A large number of our students are studying in – or have graduated from – Qatar Foundation’s partner universities.

The Academic Bridge Program is fully accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA).

Gateway to University

The ABP helps its students get admitted to English-speaking universities and to be successful in their future studies. Not only is the ABP academic program focused on building the skills needed to succeed in university, we offer a range of supportive services that pave the way for college success.

Mini courses in IELTS and ACT/SAT help boost test scores, while college counseling services help students understand the complex college application process and how to write compelling college admissions essays. As a result, over 90% of ABP graduates are admitted to universities each year.

Academic Skills

The Academic Bridge Program (ABP) provides students with a variety of skills that are important for university admission and for success at university. Those skills include the following:

  • Critical thinking
  • Problem solving
  • Following instructions
  • Using rubrics
  • Proofreading
  • Getting extra help
  • Time management
  • Working with others in a group
  • Working in a mixed gender environment
  • Taking initiative
  • Accepting responsibility
  • Acting with academic integrity

The students and faculty are diverse. I met people I wouldn’t have met anywhere else and it’s close to Qatar Foundation’s universities.
